Covering Sport With A Passion!
A 2017 Sports Management graduate from the Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and a Hull University graduate of 2014 with a 2:1 in Business. During my year in the Netherlands I completed a number of practical assignments related to Event Management, Sports Marketing and Strategic Management amongst others. Examples of these include a strategic change plan for an organisation, brand identity prism and a PowerPoint detailing the creation of our own sports event. I Completed a dissertation on Financial Regulations in football and an assignment on "Strategic analysis of Manchester United" during my time studying a Bachelors. Would love to work in the football industry as I'm very interested in the marketing/commercial side of the industry. Also as you can tell I'm passionate about writing about sport so this is another avenue I would follow.
Passion for football or soccer depending on how you refer to it. Spend most of Saturdays down at Meadow Lane and occasionally at St Mary's on the South Coast, although during 16/17 I spent most weekends somewhere in the Netherlands at a sports event. Big follower of European football too mainly French football with an interest in French football having travelled all over France, and in September 2019 I went to watch Nancy play in Ligue 2. Also have developed a keen interest in Swiss football in recent years having been to the Stockhorn Arena in Thun a couple of years and keep an eye out too for German club Karlsruher's results as well as Freiburg's. Furthermore having been to Innsbruck in the summer of 2017 I have taken an interest in the Austrian League too. Fingers crossed for a Wacker Innsbruck promotion back to the Bundesliga this season. As well as men's football I'm also a big fan of Women's football and used to go and watch Notts County Ladies games until they sadly went out of business. During the summer of 2017 I volunteered at the Women's Euros in the Netherlands, taking part in the opening ceremony which was an unbelievable experience and helping out with transport logistics. In my spare time I went to watch a number of games too.
As of 2019, I currently live in Poland so I am a keen follower of the Ekstraklasa and Piast Gliwice ae my adopted team due to living no far from the city, so I get to some of their games. I've also been up to Poznan to watch Lech Poznan play. Furthermore, I have had stadium tours of Lech Poznan's stadium as well as Lechia Gdansk's and Legia Warsaw's which was great and unique in their own way.
Apart from football, rugby and tennis are other passions having been to many events in both sports over years gone by, most notably the AEGON trophy and AEGON challenge at Nottingham tennis centre and a number of international rugby friendlies as well as club games. In 2015 I took in a couple of live Rugby World Cup games as England hosted the tournament, then in 2016 I went to Murrayfield to watch Scotland take on France in the Six Nations.
Across the Atlantic, Canadian Football is the chosen sport for me over the NFL, so will do a number of blogs on CFL as well. I have developed quite a big passion for the sport and would love to be able to go and watch a game at some point (preferably featuring Toronto Argonauts) or even a Grey Cup which would be a truly unforgettable experience.
Depending how successful the site is I may expand my reach of sport, however I won't be expanding to Cricket, Darts or F1 as I lack both a passion and knowledge for them.
